About Barb V:
Barb V, AKA COACH V, to her Athletes and Parents…
NCAA Division 1 school records at two different D1 Schools. (Her first School Record Still Stands Today!) Proudly earned letters at both universities. Has set powerlifting records on 3 different continents.
Coach V has set As an aspiring Olympian. Barb narrowly missed the Olympic trials by a mere 1.5 inches in her initial sport. Undeterred by setbacks, she courageously switched gears and embraced powerlifting, where she went on to set world records. Her achievements were celebrated internationally, with the American Flag raised, and the National Anthem played in her honor on three different continents.
She says her most rewarding athletic achievements come through coaching her athletes and assisting them in attaining their goals.
Coach V is proud of her Special Olympic coaching experiences and encourages everyone, athlete, coach, fan, and couch-potato to serve at least one season in their area Special Olympics programs. She is still in contact with many of her Special Olympians, some even 30 years later.
